RCN Financial Planning Limited is committed to using artificial intelligence responsibly, transparently, and in full compliance with FCA regulations and UK GDPR. This policy sets out how and where AI tools are used within our practice.
How We Use AI
We use AI tools to support our work in the following ways:
- Drafting and reviewing internal documents and communications
- Research and market commentary preparation
- Administrative workflow automation
- Analysis of non-personal, publicly available financial data
Data Protection
Client data is never processed through cloud-based AI services. Where AI tools are used in connection with client work, all processing occurs locally on RCN's own hardware using self-hosted large language models. No client information is transmitted to any third-party AI provider.
Generic and non-personal content may be prepared using publicly available cloud-based AI assistants, such as those provided by leading AI research companies. These tools are used solely for tasks that involve no client-specific or confidential information.
Human Oversight
All AI-generated content is reviewed and approved by a qualified adviser before use. AI tools support our work — they do not replace professional judgement, and no advice or suitability assessment is generated or delivered by AI without human review.
Our Approach to AI Infrastructure
For client-sensitive work, we operate a privacy-first local AI infrastructure. Large language models run entirely on our own hardware, meaning data never leaves our controlled environment. For general business tasks involving no personal data, we may use publicly available AI assistants as productivity tools.
Regulatory Position
Our use of AI is consistent with FCA guidance on technology and innovation. We maintain full accountability for all outputs and advice. This policy is reviewed regularly as the regulatory landscape develops.
